Need homework help on television?

okay well i am helping my brother on doing a annotated bibliography and his topic is on the invention of television. Well we are having trouble finding a website on, way before the television where they just had radios to listen to and make up a image in their heads...way before the first television came about..can you please help..by the way my brother is 11 so not too complicated..thanks!
