Undelete a deleted response?

I just accidentally deleted an answer I gave to a question. Can I get it back? I tried going back a page or two on my browser, editing it, and re-submitting it, but it still doesn't show. Page says "you've already answered this question," but my answer still isn't showing on the page. Everybody else who answered were idiots with bad advice and no knowledge about the subject - without my answer catastrophe will ensue and the poor asker will be sent into the world with the equivalent of the word "stupid" tattooed on her forehead. Help!
