98 Caddy Question......?

After my car heats up to normal operational temperature, it will cut off occasionally when I come to a stop. If it does not cut off, at times it will sputter like it wants to cut off. Here's the thing, whenever I have my AC on, it doesn't do either. What can this be. Thanks in advance for your input.
