Is the Peak Oil question moot now?

There are oil sands in the Gulf of Mexico that has enough oil in them to power the United Stated for over 100 years. There is also enough oil in ANWR to power the United States for an estimated 300 years or more. the problem is that the democrats refuse to let us drill for it. I have been in the oil and gas industry for 18 years now.
