Lingering pain after wisdom teeth extraction? Is it normal?

I had all four of my impacted wisdom teeth removed a few months ago and I found that the first couple days i was generally pain free, but for the fourth through like the seventh day i had the worst pain. I think that it is different for everybody, and i wouldn't be too worried yet. I felt a tightness in my jaw for about two weeks after the gums had healed. You would know if you had dry socket, i hear it hurts (i was lucky now to get it).
